There are no official documents explaining the original item this jacket is based off, but it is designed using a 1910-1920 era US Army jacket featuring embossed donut buttons and made from black sateen. It has 3 pockets, which unlike the later USMC denim and WW2 period USMC/USN HBT 3 pocket coverall design utility jacket, features a modified pentagonal pocket used for a pocket watch. In terms of the timing, it is from the first half of WW1 which I have seen an all in one version with similar pocket design and same material used. However I have not seen any black sateen US Army items since then and even personally close collectors and second hand clothing dealers are not familiar making it a particularly rare item. The design of the jacket and sewing specifications are the same as the #1106 3 pocket jacket which was finally remade last year. For this project we are producing an #1106 with an inner pocket. When I think back, in the 90s when I was designing the #1106, there were quite a few black sateen US Army coveralls on my mind. This gives the flavor of American workwear's early days in the 1910s and 20s which laid the framework for strong American workwear design to follow while staying true to the roots and taste of the #1106 making it even more attractive to come.

There are currently no official documents regarding the original sample of this utility jacket, and the details are mostly unknown, but the design is based on a black jacket that designer Obuchi saw in the 1980s. This is a 3-pocket coverall jacket from the 1910s to 1920s, made of cotton satin and featuring US ARMY embossed donut buttons. Although it has 3 pockets, it differs from later USMC denim and WWII period USMC/USN HBT 3-pocket coverall-type utility jackets, and the chest pocket has a modified pentagonal pocket for a pocket watch. It becomes a thing. It dates back to around World War I, and in addition to coveralls and jackets, I have seen all-in-one jackets made of the same material with a similar pocket design and buttons. However, since then, I have never seen a black satin US ARMY item, and even my close personal collectors and vintage clothing dealers have never heard of it, making it truly a ``mysterious black satin.'' The design and sewing specifications of the jacket are the same as the #1106 3 Pocket Jacket, which was reprinted last year for the first time in a while, so for this project we are releasing #1106 with an inner pocket . In retrospect , when #1106 was being designed in the 1990s , the 3-pocket black satin US ARMY coverall must have been on the designer's mind . #1106 was born in the 1910s and 1920s when American workwear began, laying the foundation for strong American workwear design while following the European roots and tastes of #1106. The flavors of light season are now even more appealing .
