The original Mechanic Blouse was the pioneering short jacket that introduced the now-iconic mismatched pocket layout, featuring two identically sized square pockets set at staggered heights. An instant hit in the late 1990s, it quickly became one of the brand's signature pieces. After a lengthy hiatus and several subtle refinements, Version 2—distinguished by its acorn-shaped pockets—was released for the Spring/Summer 2025 collection. Making its debut this season, Version 3 takes an entirely different approach. The signature mismatched pockets are gone, as is the button-front design. At first glance, it reads as a classic short work jacket. Look closer, however, and you'll notice an atmosphere that feels unfamiliar even within the world of vintage workwear. It's infused with the brand's longstanding philosophy of creating pieces that seem as though they could have existed—but never actually did.

初代メカニック・ブラウスは、同サイズの正方形ポケットを段違いにセットしたいわゆるガチャポケのショートジャケットの元祖的な存在で、1990年代後半のインスタント・ヒットでした。その後しばらくのブランクや数回のマイナーチェンジを経て、ドングリ型ポケットのバージョン２が2025SSにリリースされました。今回デビューとなるバージョン３は、ガチャポケでもなければボタンフロントでもなく、一見すると普通のショート・ワークジャケットに仕上がっています。しかしよく見るとビンテージの世界では見慣れないムードが漂っており、ブランドの伝統である“ありそうでない/なさそうであった”的なエッセンスが注入されています。
