Post O’Alls first mixed a long, hip-length hunting-style vest into its collections in the early 2000s. At the time, the market was dominated by short, waist-length hunting vests. Inspired by a prewar long hunting vest that designer Takeshi Ohfuchi often layered over outerwear, the Royal Hunter—precursor to the Royal Traveler—was born. Since then, hunter-style vests have become indispensable to workwear styling, dramatically expanding its possibilities. Royal Moody, a new model for FW2026, revives the fun mood of those early days of the long vest.

Post O’Allsが、ハンティングなムードを持つロングの腰丈ベストを初めてコレクションにミックスしたのが2000年代前半。その頃はハンティングベストと言えば市場にはウエスト丈の短いものしか無く、そんな中でデザイナーの大淵がアウターの上にレイヤリングしてよく着ていた、戦前の長いハンティングベストをインスピレーションとして生まれたのがロイヤルハンター（ロイヤルトラベラーの前身）でした。それ以来、ワークウエアのコーディネートにハンター系のベストは欠かせないものとなり、コーディネートの幅が飛躍的に広がりました。26FWのニューモデルであるロイヤルムーディは、そんなロングベスト黎明期の楽しいムードを蘇らせています。
