A quintessential example of Post O’Alls’ concept of “fusion” is the Walkabout—an instant hit in the late 1990s. Based on a WWII-era USN HBT utility jacket, the original Walkabout removed its wind flap, which was impractical for urban use, and fused it with the plain, understated back style (without yoke and pleats) of the U.S. Army version. The result was a reimagined, hybrid piece that embodied Post O’Alls’ unique relaxed approach. Over the years, several modified and replica versions were released, but this season marks the return of the original Walkabout—the most laid-back version to date.

ポストオーバーオールの“フュージョン”を体現しているのが、１９９０年代後半のインスタント・ヒットであったウォークアバウト。WWII期のUSNのHBTユーティリティジャケットをベースに、街では不都合なウインドフラップを省略、さらにU.S.ARMYバージョンの、ヨーク及びプリーツなしのプレーンなバックスタイルをフュージョンして再構築したものが初代ウォークアバウトでした。その後、モディファイ・バージョンやレプリカバージョンなど数バージョン展開しましたが、今シーズンは最もリラックスした初代バージョンを復活させました。
